Doulas started from the idea of women helping women in labor. A doula is there for emotional and physical support throughout labor. She is trained and experienced in birth so she can help the laboring woman have a good experience, shorter birth and achieve the birth she chooses, whether natural or with an epidural.
The birth of your child will be one of the most important days of your life. It should take very much planning, thought and consideration. Most of the choices you will have for your birth will be very personal and individual. A doula is hired by the mother to help her realize HER dream for the birth for her child. A doula listens to and understands what the mother wants for the birth of her child.
I am a doula in Orange County, CA. I am located in Placentia, near Yorba Linda, Fullerton, Brea and Anaheim. I am currently working on my certification with DONA.
